Glass repair work in the area of an antique clock?
I inherited an art deco gold-tipped nice watch very recently. Due to a terrible accident moving, the watch face is a circular piece of thin transparent glass cracked / split in two. How can they even try to get this fixed? The clock is small but very heavy (5-7 pounds I'm guessing) and I prefer not having to send it as shipping costs would be strong and not only include the price to achieve this separation in the face of the watch also fixed. I live about 40 minutes south of Ithaca, NY anyone knows of an individual, or simply a general, I can go? In advance, thanks for answering this question:)
Call the glass and several companies explain that you have an antique clock (I guess no glass in the glass bubble real?) If you still have the glass - that would be even better - take it in the glass business to show what type of glass that is - Usually they can order and install glass replacement for a small fee. Make sure that the same type of glass that was there to begin with - or at least very similar or lower the value of the own clock. If companies can not get the glass window of a place at the site - see if they can order it from the only place I know that takes this type of glass - is in Cocoa Beach, Florida, which can get from ... If you can not install to the original form (without changing the structure around the clock to install glass), take the piece of glass I have for you at a local master clock and have it installed!
