Positive Material Identification is another technique that is used to give immediate results on the alloy in question, with a minimum penetration of the surface. Ray fluorescence is used X to identify ferrous and nonferrous materials without cutting the sample for analysis. Eddy currents are normally used to check the cooling system piping defect detection, classification of materials, testing thickness and conductivity.
