These old-fashioned recipes "cookie" are perfect for lunchboxes, after school is, or just because. They are also great for navigation in school children, soldiers in the U.S. or abroad, out of state grandparents, etc. Today's recipes include Old timey oatmeal cookies also offers an option to make oatmeal raisin cookies grape. Geraldine Fudge cookies are just a simple old fashion chocolate cookie that is sure to please chocolate lovers everywhere. These cookies are so easy that are right for children to help. This is especially important for children who can help do something to send to parents who are far the army.
OLD timey OATMEAL COOKIES
This recipe is so old, I do not know where it came from.
3 / 4 cup lard (or shortening)
1 cup packed brown sugar
1 / 2 cup granulated sugar
1 egg
1 / 4 cup water
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 cup sifted wheat flour
1 teaspoon salt
1 / 2 teaspoon baking soda
3 cups uncooked oats
Beat the lard (or shortening), the brown sugar, granulated sugar, egg, water and vanilla together until creamy. Sift together flour, salt and baking soda. Add the flour mixture to sugar mixture, mix well. Add the oats and place a teaspoon on baking sheets. Bake in a preheated moderate oven (350 degrees) for 12-15 minutes.
Variation: You could add 3 / 4 cup raisins Oatmeal-Raisin Cookies.
GERALDINE'S FUDGE COOKIES
1 cup flour
4 tablespoons cocoa
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 cup sugar
2 eggs
1 / 2 cup butter, melted
In a bowl, mix flour, cocoa and sugar. Add eggs, vanilla and butter. Drop by spoonfuls on lightly greased baking sheets. Bake at 350 degrees for about 10 minutes.
