How do I remove verdigris (green dirt) of vintage jewelry?
I sell the online auction of vintage jewelry and, occasionally, running through pieces that have things called verdigris green GuNkY. Appears to be easy to clean, but not always, any ideas?
Have you tried a very soft brush and toothpaste yet? It works for me when I had this problem and had a lot of jewelry to clean after my mother died and I also tried different cleaners, and there must be very careful not to damage the jewelry cleaning products. Vintage jewelry was not made to withstand Strong cleaning products toothpaste, but not as tough as the cleaning products are. I cleaned all my jewelry using toothpaste except what is my pearls. Moreover, Have you tried to take a very soft brush and only through good hand soap bar and brush the heck out of the jewelry? This also works for most pieces jewelry too. Good luck cleaning the verdigis in vintage jewelry.
